When things stopped, I did a lot of sad dancing to loud synths and drums that I pretended matched up with my heart beat. I remembered the long conversations better, but I missed the little things more: the taste of my cherry chapstick, reapplied because his lips were unkind, the corners where his walls met his ceiling, the way his hair curled around my fingers slightly, him shaking my hair off his face, looking back down, and grinning.
